The Larose Family
Our humble beginnings were in Lucerne, Switzerland. A son of George and Agnes Rosen was recruited in the 1740s as a mercenary by the Hungarians to fight against Prussia. As the war expanded, so did his orders, as he transferred to the Spanish fleets to fight the Italians and then the French fleets to fight the British in the colonies. His boat did not find glory, rather it found an ambush at Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. And yet, faith or luck was on his side. General Amherst was in need of more soldiers and therefore mercenaries were recruited. And hence begins Jean Rosen's adventures in the New World.
This webpage is a dedication to the Larose Family. As Catholics, the Church has maintained records for each members' birth, marriage, and death. Each record gives us a glimpse into our past. Additional information was added when possible to enrich our knowledge about our heritage.
Cheers,
Michel Larose (son of Orval Larose & Paulette Leroux).
